15 November 2025, Pohjankartano School, Leevi Madetojankatu, Oulu
This is already the seventh time that volunteers from the Association of Poles in Northern Finland represented Poland with delicious Polish dishes and baked goods at the hugely popular event in Oulu – the Colourful Restaurant.
This time as many as 25 countries sold their homemade delicacies, and Polish cuisine – alongside Italian and Finnish – was the only representative of European cooking. It must be said that Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine dominated the event, but at the same time, it made our Polish treats extremely popular among the residents of Oulu and the surrounding areas who visited the event. Some people who have been returning to our stand for many years even said that Polish food feels wonderfully home-like to them!
The stars of our table were definitely Polish “hamburgers” with homemade breaded pork cutlets, along with extremely popular stuffed eggs, delicious salads, and homemade chicken pâté.
For sweets, we offered cheesecake, apple pie, karpatka, two chocolate cakes, and sweet energy balls.
A novelty this year was cotton candy made by our youngest volunteers – Grześ and Kristian – which was incredibly popular among the children attending the event.
By the end of the day, our stand was practically empty – which means yet another great success for our wonderful team: Sandra, Ewa, Anastazja, Ewa, and the irreplaceable Arek in a pig costume, who was an absolute hit at our stand.
Thank you very much for your involvement, and we are certain that with such a team this extremely positive initiative can definitely continue!
