Saturday, 7 February 2026, Kumppanuuskeskus
Cooking together is one of the favourite activities of the members of the Polish Association in Northern Finland. This year’s Fat Thursday on a Saturday was already the fifth edition of the event and – as always – proved to be a wonderful opportunity to meet, chat, and spend time together. After all, who doesn’t enjoy rolling up their sleeves in a cheerful and friendly atmosphere to join in kneading, shaping, frying, dusting with sugar, filling, and glazing those delicious, traditional doughnuts and crispy angel wings?
Fortunately, as every year, there was no shortage of helping hands. The kitchen at Kumppanuuskeskus filled with the aroma of freshly fried pastries, laughter, and a warm, welcoming spirit. Everyone could find a role – from preparing the dough, through carefully frying the doughnuts to a perfect golden colour, to decorating them. Thanks to the shared effort and enthusiasm of all participants, the results were not only impressive but, above all, absolutely delicious.
After the culinary part, it was time for the most enjoyable moment – tasting the sweet treats together, accompanied by engaging conversations, memories, and plans for future initiatives. The youngest participants certainly had no time to be bored – joyful games and children’s energy added even more happiness to the day.
To those who could not join us this year – we warmly invite you to the next edition. Moments like these truly taste best when shared.
Special thanks to Ewa and Marcin for the beautiful photographs that perfectly captured the atmosphere of the day.
