We have to admit – the end of winter surprised us this year! March, which is usually the best month for skiing and one of the best times to enjoy winter in Finland, turned out to be one of the warmest on record. The snow was disappearing before our eyes, so we quickly organised a “winter” barbecue to mark the end of the season.
Due to the weather conditions, the ski tracks were already in poor condition, but some of us still decided to ski a few kilometres through the beautiful forests of Köykkyri in Kempele. Even the youngest participants, with the help of their guardians, had a chance to try skiing.
The older children were a bit disappointed that the ski slope was already closed due to the melting snow, but fortunately there was still a nearby hill for sledding fun.
After all the activities, we gathered around the fire to grill sausages and burgers, enjoy warm tea or glögi, and most importantly – spend time together and chat in a friendly Polish atmosphere. Because that is what matters most at our gatherings! 🔥❄️
