For the first time in its history, SPPF took part in the Night of Art—Oulun Muusajuhlat.

We had the rare opportunity to hear the lovely poems of Polish Nobel Prize winner Wislawa Szymborska, both in the original and in Finnish translation, in the lovely setting of Kahvila Kikku, surrounded by greenery and accompanied by the music of other artists participating in this event.

The Szymborska Poetry Evening offered its audience the opportunity to learn more about the poet’s biography and how it influenced her work. All of us listened and listened… Her poems’ remarkable beauty and simplicity appeal to individuals from every culture and background because they are so easily understood and universal.

The members of SPPF, who prepared this evening, presented Szymborska’s selected works with great joy. And the enchanted faces of the listeners spoke for themselves….
