Language of the Heart – FILM THERAPY

🎬 Inside Out – A Journey into the World of Emotions

On 31 October 2026, a special film therapy workshop was held as part of the project “Language of the Heart – Art Therapy in Teaching Polish to Children Living Abroad.” During the workshop, 10 children embarked on an extraordinary journey into the world of emotions, discovering how much we can learn about ourselves by exploring our own feelings.

The film Inside Out 2 inspired our meeting and opened up conversations about feelings, self-acceptance, self-esteem, and the importance of being ourselves. It helped us reflect on how every emotion has its own meaning and how all emotions—even the difficult ones—are part of our lives.

The workshop included movement, icebreaker games, an emotional mirror activity, group discussions, and creative tasks. The children had the opportunity to explore, recognise, and name emotions, as well as share their thoughts in an atmosphere of openness and mutual respect.

The children also created their own emotional worlds, using magazine cut-outs to express what they feel, what brings them joy, and what makes them feel safe. Each artwork was unique and reflected the children’s individual experiences and imagination.

It was a time for discovery, self-expression, listening to one another, and building relationships. The shared activities helped the children get to know one another better, recognise the diversity of emotions, and understand that we may each feel and experience situations in our own way.

All emotions matter. We do not have to be happy, calm, or brave all the time. We have the right to feel, to experience emotions, and to be ourselves—just as we are. Recognising and expressing emotions helps us better understand ourselves and others.

Thank you to the children for their openness, enthusiasm, and wonderful ideas!
