On December 1, 2024, the Slavic Culture Day was held at Kulttuuritalo Valve in Oulu, an event that brought together the art, traditions, and music of Slavic cultures. The inspiring event was organized by the Association of Poles in Northern Finland in collaboration with local partners.
During the event, participants had the opportunity to engage in artistic workshops such as canvas painting and wreath making.
A highlight of the program was the performance by the Ukrainian amateur choir Solovejki (Ukrainalainen amatöörikuoro Solovejki), which captivated the audience with beautiful songs, transporting listeners into the world of Ukrainian folk music. The program also featured an exhibition of Polish ceramics from “Bolesławiec” and coloring activities and paper crafts for the youngest attendees.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Association of Ukrainians in Northern Ostrobothnia (Pohjois-Pohjanmaan Ukrainalaisten Yhdistys Ry) and the Ukrainian amateur choir Solovejki (Ukrainalainen amatöörikuoro Solovejki) for their immense dedication and support in organizing the event. Thanks to their collaboration, the Slavic Culture Day was not only an opportunity to explore the rich heritage of Slavic culture but also to foster a community rooted in mutual respect and inspiration.
The project “Polish Community Events in Northern Finland” is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland as part of the “Polonia and Poles Abroad 2024 – Polish Community Events and Initiatives” competition.
We thank all participants for their presence, engagement, and positive energy. We warmly invite you to join us for future events organized by our Association!
