Saturday, 6 September 2025, Rokua National Park
On this beautiful, sunny and very warm day, we set off in a rather small group this time to the forests of Rokua National Park. We decided to split into two groups – mushroom hunters and hikers. One group went into the forest in search of porcini mushrooms – and although our baskets were not overflowing, we managed to find quite a few beautiful porcini and bay boletes. The other group chose the more than 6-kilometre Syyvydenkierros trail, where the views were truly breathtaking!

After such an adventure, some of us even dared to jump into the nearby lake to cool off – as the day was exceptionally hot. After these activities, it was time for a well-deserved rest and a shared barbecue. The children enjoyed themselves at the nearby playground, while the adults prepared a meal – grilled sausages, mini kebabs, fried cheese, all accompanied by freshly baked bread. Of course, there were also some sweet treats for dessert!
Joint trips to the forest in search of mushrooms, and above all spending active time together in nature, are among the most beautiful traditions of our Association – and we will certainly continue them in the years to come!
