For the seventh time, the Association of Poles in Northern Finland had the pleasure of taking part in one of Oulu’s most popular culinary events – Colourful Restaurant – Värikäs Ravintola. This year’s edition brought together representatives from as many as 25 countries, creating a unique space to explore flavors and cultures from around the world.
As every year, the Polish stand attracted great interest from visitors. Guests could enjoy a wide selection of traditional dishes – both sweet and savory. Among the homemade baked goods were apple pie, sponge cake, chocolate cake (“murzynek”), energy balls, and croissants, which remain some of the most popular treats. Savory dishes such as bigos, salads, and the distinctive Polish pork cutlet burgers were also very popular.
Participation in the event is not only an opportunity to promote Polish cuisine but also a way to actively engage in the local community. This year, representatives of the association – together with the youngest participant, Kristian – gave an interview to local media, including the newspaper Forum 24, sharing their experiences from many years of participation in the event.
According to the organizers, this year’s edition attracted approximately 1,800–2,000 visitors, confirming the event’s continued popularity.
The Polish stand has become a permanent part of Oulu’s culinary landscape. We are proud to continue this tradition and look forward to future editions.
